New website – June Cluett

I am really excited about the launch of my new website – which has come into being with the help of Mr Webby Foot himself – John Bruce of Salisbury. My old website was sclerotic. Hadn’t changed in far too long a time, ( possibly years ) because I didn’t know how…. now with John at hand I can see into the future. It will take a bit of time to build so not everything all at once…..

A few things to remind myself and you that since we arrived back in England in late 2011 I’ve not let too much grass grow under my feet and have continued being an active creative, despite several major set backs humbling me from time to time –

I taught painting in our local Parish Hall early on.
I gave a talk to The Blue Peter Yacht Club on life aboard as crew member to my husband, the skipper, and as an artist in April 2013 and another via Zoom during Covid.
I oversaw the installation of my studio in half of Liza’s double garage (Hooray!).
Geoff gave me Anthony Connolly’s inspiring 3 day Portrait Painting Course as a birthday present. He must have been prescient, as it effectively broke my “Creative Block” at that time, in Oct 2015 (another big Hooray!).
Portraits have long been a passion of mine. I subsequently ran a much enjoyed weekly Portrait Painting Group in our Parish Hall for nearly four years – until Covid brought it to an enforced close.
I’m proud to have been commissioned to do a large and fairly complex portrait as a 50th Birthday present which took two years to complete – 2016/17.
I donated two drawings to The Festival of Drawing at Messums in Tisbury 16th to 18th November 2018 for charity. Both sold.
Myself and four others from the Portrait Group bravely ventured forth and successfully took part, twice, in the Wylye Valley Arts Trail during 2017 and 2019.
Covid saw the advent of Zoom and the opportunity to reconnect with my Boston USA Writing Group and the subsequent creation of our self published “Five Artist Writers” book. I assisted in the Cover Design, contributed poetry, stories and artwork; helped with editing and proofreading.
The Vanner Gallery generously honoured us with a book launch for “Five Artist Writers” on 4th August 2022.
I flew to Boston to take part in a further book launch, a month later, held at the beautiful Goodnow Library in Sudbury, MA., on September 11th 2022.
I have the honour of being published in Kat Jones marvellous zine, PSEUDONYM twice. Issue 6 and issue 9.
I have exhibited my bronze sculptures twice at the Talos Gallery in Calne; other 3D pieces in Amesbury; plus sculpture and paintings into two shows of the Young Gallery Members Annual Exhibitions, in Salisbury.
I gave a talk at the Young Gallery “Conversations on Art” Program on the trials and tribulations, joys and inspirations of being an artist living a peripatetic lifestyle on 26th Feb 2020.
I have been short listed for the Victoria Gallery Annual Summer Show in Bath.
I coach a monthly five hour ‘Painting and Drawing Plant Arts Workshop’ in the Hanging Langford Parish Hall, now in its third year and it is a privilege to be doing so, to such a great group.
The popular Wylye Valley Writers quarterly events in our Parish Hall – run by myself, with brilliant team mates, William Graham and Tracy Burge, is now in its third year!
